Patrick Van Pelt is the founder of Altravia Venture Studio, a Houston-based studio built on a single conviction: institutions should serve people, not the other way around. Altravia works where health, finance, governance, and human development intersect — the places where measurement has been separated from meaning and decisions from their consequences.

He came to this from three decades inside American employee benefits and fiduciary advisory, where he watched systems certify that people were inside an acceptable range without ever asking whether they could stay there. His current work argues that what’s missing is an instrument, not another benefit.

Through Altravia Press, is publishing Socio-Spatial Intelligence in 2026, the first of a six-volume series. He holds an MBA from Rice University.
