John Cassidy is a venture capital investor and international business leader with over 16 years of experience spanning investment, executive leadership and international business development. As Managing Director, Canada, at SVG Ventures | THRIVE, John leads the firm’s Canadian investment strategy, portfolio development and strategic partnerships.

He has led investments in 22 Canadian technology companies and helped build an innovation platform supporting over 140 startups that have collectively attracted more than C$220 million in capital. John works closely with institutional investors, multinational corporations and government partners to accelerate commercialization and connect emerging technologies with global markets.

Previously CEO of Touchstore, John also held roles with Mitsui Sumitomo. He has completed Columbia Business School’s Directors Programme, strengthening his expertise in corporate governance and board leadership.
