Daniel Staines is a creative technologist and founder of Monster Theory, a Sligo-based XR studio. A creative director for over 20 years, he has led immersive projects for clients including Google, Meta, L’Atelier des Lumières, the Guinness Storehouse and Outernet London, across mixed reality, projection mapping, LED and AV installation, 3D visualisation and live visual performance. His work in cultural heritage and tourism includes projects for the OPW, Fáilte Ireland, Céide Fields Visitor Centre and Dingle Oceanworld.

He works closely with architects, engineers, artists, public bodies and production teams, sharing what he’s learned and pushing what mixed reality, real-time visuals and spatial media can do. Alongside client work, Monster Theory is developing its own mixed reality platform, currently available to partners working directly with the studio.
